Larry Scott: 'There was no breach of integrity'

On Monday, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott acknowledged reviewing comments made by Pac-12 men’s basketball Coordinator of Officials Ed Rush during the Pac-12 Tournament in Las Vegas that reportedly offered game officials inappropriate incentives for being stricter with Pac-12 coaches.

"Based on the review, we have concluded that while Rush made inappropriate comments that he now regrets during internal meetings that referenced rewards, he made the comments in jest and the officials in the room realized they were not serious offers," Scott said.

On Tuesday, Commissioner Scott expanded on his previous comments in interviews with ESPN Radio and Pac-12 Networks. "We didn’t find anything that would be a fireable offense, a breach of ethics or integrity" during conversations with officials who were in the room with Rush, he told Pac-12 Networks' Ashley Adamson. The overall direction of the officiating program overseen by Rush will be reviewed following the end of the season.
