See you at football media day: Washington's Keith Price

Jul 25, 2013

Expectations were high last season for the Huskies, a year Washington was supposed to take their football program to the next level. Washington finished the season with a 7-6 record. With the disappointment still fresh in their minds, Steve Sarkisian, his coaching staff and the Huskies will be huddling behind their veteran quarterback Keith Price to pick up the pace this season in the hopes of competing for a Pac-12 North title and a coveted bowl bid.

Price was recently named to the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award, an honor given to college football's national player of the year. The Los Angeles native's breakout season in 2011 made him a household name in Montlake by setting Washington records with 33 touchdown passes, a pass efficiency of 161.09 and a completion rate of 66.9 percent. The Husky didn't fare as well in 2012 behind an O-line with multiple starters hobbled by injury, and let's just say fans noticed. In 2012 he threw for 2,726 yards on the season with 263 completions and 19 touchdown passes. With the excitement of the unveiling of the new Husky Stadium on Aug. 31, Washington fans will be waiting to see if their starting QB can make the first year there an unforgettable one.
