Meet The Freshmen: Madi McNamara

SEATTLE -- The Washington women's soccer season is underway. While the team is led by a deep and talented senior class, the Dawgs have also added a group of talented freshmen. got a chance to speak to each of the new Huskies. Today, Madi McNamara.

Why did you come to Washington?

McNamara: "It is a great combination of emphasis on being a student-athlete, the amazing coaching staff, behind the scenes stuff and our team."

What do you hope to contribute this season and in your career as a Husky?

McNamara: "I hope to contribute motivation and presence in the back."

What is the greatest moment of your playing career so far?

McNamara: "Signing my letter of intent to become a Husky."

What is your first memory of playing soccer?

McNamara: "Being a cherry picker and scoring lots of goals when I was three."

What do you do for fun?

McNamara: "I like to watch competitive cheer videos, read, play sports and just be competitive."

Who is the most inspirational person in your life and why?

McNamara: "My gradmother because she is such a fighter."


What is your favorite meal: All things breakfast.

What is your favorite movie: All of the Bring It On's.

What is favorite type of music: EDM or rap.

If you didn't play soccer, what sport would you play: Basketball or Crew.

What is the best book you have ever read: Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand.
