2013 women's soccer season kicks off Friday
Walnut Creek, Calif. - The 2013 season gets underway this weekend, with each Pac-12 team slated to debut on Friday. Ten squads will play a second game in the first weekend of action, including a Monday night matchup of California at Pepperdine. Two Conference teams, Stanford (2) and UCLA (5) begin the season ranked in the top-10 in the NSCAA preseason coaches poll for the second year in a row. UCLA, however, was named conference favorites over Stanford by the Pac-12 coaches int he auual preseason poll. The Pac-12 Networks will air 58 live women’s soccer games this season, with the first match of 2013 featuring Northeastern at No. 5 UCLA on Friday, August 23 at 6 p.m. PT. The Conference welcomes three new coaches in 2013, Kat Mertz at Oregon, Amanda Cromell at UCLA and Tony Amato at Arizona, all of whom are hoping to continue the sucess they had at their previous programs.
