Uniform watch: College football is here

It's the first Saturday of the college football season, and half the Pac will be in action today. The only thing more important than winning on Saturdays, of course, is looking good while doing so. That said, let's take a look at what each team is rocking in its season opener:


Expectations are high for the Eugene Gang as the Ducks enter the season as the No. 3 team in the country. When they face the Nicholls State Colonels this afternoon, the Ducks will be donning another version of their traditionally untraditional uniforms: All white e'rythang.

Never stop being storm troopers, Oregon.

The 25th-ranked Beavs will begin battle two hours after their Civil War rivals when they kick off against FCS powerhouse Eastern Washington. We'll get to the uniforms, but first you need to check out these goal post pads:

Snazzy. And here is today's version of the new Beaver uniforms- black with white lining and orange numbers.

Nice look for the Cougs as they start the season at Auburn. Crimson lids, white tops and crimson pants.

Nothing new for the Husky crew, says Washington athletic department writer Gregg Bell.


Cal will be opening the Bear Raid Era against Northwestern in this gear. Whatcha think of the navy blue tops and gold pants?

Like Oregon State and Arizona, this is all part of a rebranding effort to put forth a more sleek look. Works for me.


Arizona got it done against Northern Arizona 35-0 last night, and it was the first time they put on the new unis. Here's what the navy blue ones looked like in action with the copper helmets:


Nothing unusual in the Trojans' road get-up from Thursday night's 30-13 victory over Hawai'i:
