No. 13 UCLA Begins Preparations for New Mexico State

LOS ANGELES – Coming off a 41-21 come-from-behind victory at No. 23 Nebraska, the UCLA football team (2-0) returned to practice on Tuesday at Spaulding Field as the Bruins begin preparations for New Mexico State (0-3).

The meeting will be the first between the two football programs as the game is scheduled for Saturday, Sep. 21, with kickoff slated for 7:37 p.m. PT. Ted Robinson will be on the call and will be joined by Glen Parker and Drea Avent on the Pac-12 Networks broadcast.

Also on Tuesday, the national accolades continued for senior linebacker Anthony Barr as he was named the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week, the Football Writers Association of America All-America Committee announced.

The 6-4, 248-pound senior from San Pedro, Calif., has been added to the 2013 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. Five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy will be announced by the FWAA on Nov. 21. The winner will be revealed on Dec. 9 during a banquet that the Charlotte Touchdown Club sponsors at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
