TUCSON, Ariz. – A solid balance both offensively and defensively lifted the Arizona (8-2) volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-19) sweep over Loyola Maryland (2-8) on the opening day of the Wildcat Classic inside McKale Center on Friday night.

TEMPE, Ariz. — No. 18 Arizona State Volleyball (9-1) swept the Cal Poly Mustangs 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-19) to capture the win in the 2013 home opener Friday night.

No. 5 Trojans Sink Titans in Three-Set Sweep

LOS ANGELES — Behind 15 points from sophomore outside hitter Samantha Bricio, the No. 5-ranked USC women's volleyball team (10-1) claimed its fourth consecutive victory with a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-16, 25-23) of Cal State Fullerton (7-4) at Galen Center on Friday, Sept. 20. Bricio led the Women of Troy with 12 kills (1e, 34att) and a .324 hitting percentage and added three service aces and seven digs.

Blocking Boost Propels Dawgs Past Matadors

SEATTLE – A prolific offensive attack and a block that revved up late powered the third-ranked Huskies to a 3-1 win over a tenacious Cal State Northridge team tonight at Alaska Airlines Arena. Washington had no blocks through the first two sets, but posted eight over the last set and a half to stop the Matadors, 25-13, 21-25, 25-14, 25-21 in front of 1,590 fans. With the win, the Huskies head into the Pac-12 conference schedule with an 8-0 record, and will trek to Washington State next Wednesday for the opener.
