Richard Rodgers Named Game Captain for Washington State

BERKELEY – Head coach Sonny Dykes announced Wednesday that junior wide receiver Richard Rodgers will be a game captain for Cal in the Golden Bears’ Homecoming contest against Washington State at Memorial Stadium on Alumni & Family Weekend at Cal this Saturday, Oct. 5 (1 p.m. PT).

Rodgers will join season captains Jackson Bouza, Deandre Coleman, Stefan McClure and Freddie Tagaloa in leadership roles against the Cougars.

The Cal-Washington State game that will serve as the Bears’ Pac-12 home opener will be televised live by FOX Sports 1 with an audio broadcast available on KGO 810 AM, the Cal IMG Sports Network and via TuneIn.

*The Pac-12 announced Monday that the Cal-UCLA game at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 12, will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT. The contest will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU with that announcement to be made either this Saturday or Sunday.

*An audio broadcast of all Cal football games can be heard live on the Cal IMG Sports Network, with KGO 810 AM in San Francisco serving as the flagship station. The audio broadcast is also available online at via TuneIn.

*In addition to the contest against Washington State, the Bears also have Pac-12 home games against Oregon State (Oct. 19), Arizona (Nov. 2) and USC (Nov. 9) remaining on their schedule. In addition to the UCLA contest, Cal will play conference games on the road at Washington (Oct. 26), Colorado (Nov. 16) and Stanford (Nov. 23). All 2013 Cal football games will be televised with currently unannounced telecast information and kickoff times to be announced either 12 or six days in advance of each game.
