Anderson and Brady Win All-American Doubles Title

bLOS ANGELES - UCLA women's tennis players Robin Anderson and Jennifer Brady made history on Sunday, becoming the first-ever Bruin team to claim the doubles title at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, which was being contested this week at the nearby Riviera Country Club.

Sunday's championship match featured a pair of qualifiers, with Anderson and Brady taking on USC's Giuliana Olmos and Zoe Scandalis. Anderson and Brady would lose just four total games in the match, cruising to a 6-2, 6-2 victory. The win was a first for UCLA, which has never had an All-American singles or doubles champion.

Prior to the doubles final, Anderson was denied a chance to becomes the Bruins' first-ever singles champion when she suffered a 6-4, 6-0 upset to North Carolina's Jamie Loeb. Anderson was seeded No. 1 in the 32-player singles draw while Loeb, a freshman at UNC, was a qualifier.
