McDonald's Red-Blue Game to be Streamed Live

Oct 7, 2013

With the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game having sold out for the third-consecutive year, Arizona Athletics has decided to provide fans with another avenue to watch the event with a live webcast at

Fans interested in viewing the free stream can do so by navigating to Brian Jeffries and Matt Muehlebach of the Arizona IMG Sports Network will provide commentary for the webcast, which is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. MST.

“Obviously, the experience of attending the Red-Blue Game is second to none,” Arizona head coach Sean Miller said. “This event is made special thanks in large part to the 14,545 fans who pack McKale to support our team. However, with the immense demand for tickets to this year’s Red-Blue Game, we felt that a webcast of the event would be a gesture to the many members of our outstanding fan base who aren’t able to attend.”

With nearly 6,500 viewers, UA’s stream of the 2012 McDonald’s Red-Blue Game was the second-most viewed web stream by a Pac-12 school during the 2012-13 academic year, behind only the Wildcats’ exhibition victory over Humboldt State later that month.

The first showcase of each Arizona men’s basketball season is set for 3 p.m. MST on Saturday, Oct. 12. Doors will open at 1 p.m. MST (subject to change) and parking in most surface lots around McKale Center will be free and open to the public.

In addition to opening another exciting season of Arizona basketball, the 2013 McDonald’s Red-Blue Game will also be a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Wildcats’ 1994 Final Four team. Along with many members of the team who are expected to be in attendance, UA greats Damon Stoudamire and Joseph Blair will experience their first McDonald’s Red-Blue Game as members of the Arizona coaching staff.

In addition to Blair and Stoudamire, members of the 1994 team who are confirmed for the Red-Blue Game include Andy Brown, Kevin Flanagan, Jarvis Kelley, Joe McLean, Dylan Rigdon, Jason Richey and Corey Williams. Additional team members’ attendance may be confirmed before Oct. 12.

Members of the 1994 Final Four team will serve as judges of the day’s slam dunk contest, and will also be recognized both prior to the game and at halftime.
