Pac-12 uniform watch: Week 7

One of the biggest games of this week's college football slate brings ESPN's College GameDay to Seattle for No. 16 Washington's hosting of No. 2 Oregon. That means the GameDay outdoor set will need helmets, and that means both schools are pulling out some sleek-looking alternates.

Candy canes before Halloween? Stanford will be donning all white unis against the red and white of the Utes.

Arizona State

ASU gave its fans the chance to choose from a number of uniform combinations for the Colorado game, and to nobody's surprise, the Sun Devils followers like maroon and gold. ASU is wearing maroon helmets and jerseys to go with gold pants. The helmets will be the same ones used against USC for the maroon monsoon a few weeks back, according to ASU blog House of Sparky.

Utah is hosting the No. 5 Stanford Cardinal and will go with red helmets, red jerseys and white pants.

In the biggest Pac-12 showdown of the week, Oregon is wearing white jerseys and pants with silver accompaniments. But the most striking feature is the so-called Sonic Boom helmet, which we suppose makes sense – Oregon's Ducks are the fastest of ducks. The tops have intricate sound-wave lookin' lines in a silver base with a fading yellow duck wing. The masks are yellow with a black stripe down the middle.

The Huskies are fighting fashion fire with fire by combating the Ducks' look with a blackout. They'll wear black jerseys and pants with a matte black helmet that includes a seemingly more-purple-than-usual 'W' logo and stripe down the middle. It's not quite Barney the Dinosaur purple, but it's getting close.
