Bruins Rise to Third at U.S. Collegiate Championships

The 13th-ranked UCLA men’s golf team moved into third place after the second round of the U.S. Collegiate Championship, hosted by Georgia Tech at The Golf Club of Georgia Saturday.

The Bruins will be playing with the leaders in the final round on Sunday, and fans can watch a live feed here.beginning at 3 p.m. EST.

In the second round, the Bruins posted a team score of 287 (-1) for a 36-hole total of 573 (-3). UCLA trails first-place Oklahoma State (565, -11) and Georgia Tech (566, -10). Tied for fourth were Iowa and Wake Forest at 574 (-2).

Individually, UCLA sophomore Jonathan Garrick continued to lead his team. He posted a one-under par 71 for a 36-hole total of 141 (-3). Tied for 13th place were sophomore Lorens Chan and junior Matt Pinizzotto at 142 (-2). Chan also carded a score of 71 (-1), and Pinizzotto signed for a score of 72 (E). Junior Manav Shah was tied for 45th at 148 (+4) after posting a score of 73 (+1) and Jake Knapp had a 76 (+4) and was tied for 76th at 155 (+11).

Georgia Tech’s Ollie Schniederjans was the 36-hole individual leader at 135 (-9) following a 69 (-3) on Saturday
