Cal Takes On Top-Seeded Liberty In NorPac Tournament

Nov 6, 2013

LYNCHBURG, Va. – California will take on Liberty in the NorPac Tournament quarterfinals Friday as teams enter the tournament looking for three wins to earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Play-In game.

The Bears (6-11, 2-4 NorPac) will take on the top seed from the East Division after Liberty concluded the year with a 14-4 record and perfect 8-0 mark in official conference games. The host Flames are riding a nine-game winning streak entering the tournament, but one of their four losses on the season came in Berkeley against the Golden Bears on Sept. 8 in a 1-0 Cal victory courtesy of an Andrea Earle goal in the 62nd minute.

The winner will play the winner of the UC Davis-Radford game on Friday at 10:30 a.m. (PT) with the championship game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. (PT).

The consolation bracket will included a potential game on Friday at 8 a.m. (PT) and a third-place game at 8 a.m. (PT) on Saturday.

Live stats and live video will be available for all games of the tournament. California last won the NorPac Tournament in the 2011 season.
