Third-ranked WASHINGTON holds on to the top spot in the Pac-12 standings for the third-straight week, but No. 4-ranked USC arrives in Seattle this weekend looking to knock off the Huskies on their home court in a top-five matchup that will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks. The Huskies enter the weekend riding an 11-match winning streak, the best Conference streak since UW won 12 straight in 2006. USC is on a four-match winning streak, its third-longest such streak this season ... STANFORD and CALIFORNIA are battling for fourth place in the Conference standings, with both teams traveling to face OREGON and OREGON STATE after both teams earned wins over the Mountain schools, UTAH and COLORADO, marking the first home Pac-12 losses for the Buffs this season. Both of the Bay Area schools are on a three-match winning streak heading into the weekend, and Stanford has a two-match advantage over the Bears in the standings ... With three teams at .500 in Conference play, there is plenty of time for ARIZONA, Colorado and Oregon to put some pressure on Stanford and Cal ... Washington, USC and Stanford all remained stagnant at their respective No. 3, 4 and 6 spots in the AVCA National Coaches Poll, with the Golden Bears moving up two spots to come in at No. 22 this week ... Pac-12 Player of the Week accolades went out to California’s Christina Higgins (Offensive), Washington’s Jenna Orlandini (Defensive) and USC’s Ebony Nwanebu (Freshman). Nwanebu tied the all-time record for most Freshman of the Week selections with five total, which was previously set by fellow Trojan Samantha Bricio last season ... Bricio, a sophomore, leads the nation in aces per set (0.73) and 12 different players in total are among the top-25 in the country in at least one statistical category. Seven different league teams appear at least once in the NCAA stats, including four different Pac-12 teams ranking in the top-25 in the country in kills per set, led by USC’s 14.66 average.
