Cal in the NFL - Week 10

BERKELEY - Here’s a look at the 34 former Cal players playing in the NFL.  Top performances of Week 10 were delivered by Marshawn Lynch, Chris Conte, and Bryan Anger.

  • Marshawn Lynch (RB), Seattle Seahawks – Lynch rushed for 145 yards on 24 carries and a TD in a 33-10 win against Atlanta. He added three receptions for 16 yards and a flea-flicker that resulted in a 43-yard TD pass by Russell Wilson. With this performance Lynch surpassed 7,000 rushing yards in his seven year career.
  • Chris Conte (FS), Chicago Bears – Conte recorded three tackles and an interception in a 21-19 loss to Detroit. Conte intercepted an overthrown ball by Matthew Stafford and returned it 35 yards to the Detroit nine, setting up a field goal. It was Conte’s second interception of the year and fifth of his career.
  • Bryan Anger (P), Jacksonville Jaguars – Anger punted seven times for an average of 38.4 yards in a 29-27 win against Tennessee. Anger placed three punts inside the 20 yard line, including pinning Tennessee at their own one-yard line. Jacksonville recorded a safety two plays later which ended up the winning margin in their first win of the year.
  • Keenan Allen (WR), San Diego Chargers – Had four receptions for 41 yards in a 28-20 loss to Denver.
  • Tyson Alualu (DT), Jacksonville Jaguars – Recorded three tackles in a 29-27 win against Tennessee.
  • C.J. Anderson (RB), Denver Broncos – Did not play in a 28-20 win against San Diego.
  • D.J. Campbell (S), Miami Dolphins – Recorded two tackles in a 22-19 loss to Tampa Bay after being promoted from the practice squad. 
  • Brian De La Puente (C), New Orleans Saints – Started in a 49-17 blowout win against Dallas. De La Puente helped the Saints offense set an NFL-record 40 first downs and a franchise-record 625 total yards.
  • Thomas DeCoud (S), Atlanta Falcons – Recorded four tackles in a 33-10 loss to Seattle.
  • Justin Forsett (RB), Jacksonville Jaguars – Did not play in a 29-27 win against Tennessee.
  • Mike Gibson (T), Arizona Cardinals – Played in a 27-24 win against Houston.
  • Matt Giordano (FS), St. Louis Rams – Played in a 38-8 upset win against Indianapolis.
  • Tony Gonzalez (TE), Atlanta Falcons – Had three receptions for 29 yards in a 33-10 loss to Seattle. Gonzalez has recorded a catch in 204 consecutive games, second only to Jerry Rice. After the game, the soon-to-be-retired Gonzalez swapped jerseys with the Seahawks’ Richard Sherman, a Stanford alum.
  • Lavelle Hawkins (WR), San Diego Chargers – Did not play in a 28-20 loss to Denver.
  • DeSean Jackson (WR), Philadelphia Eagles – Had four receptions for 80 yards, including a 55-yard TD reception, in a 27-13 win over Green Bay. The win moves Philadelphia into a tie for first in the NFC East.
  • Marvin Jones (WR), Cincinnati Bengals – Had one reception for two yards and one rush for seven yards in a 20-17 overtime loss to Baltimore. The loss dropped the Bengals to 6-4 but they remain atop the AFC North.
  • Cameron Jordan (DE), New Orleans Saints – Recorded one tackle in a 49-17 win against Dallas as New Orleans remained atop the NFC South with a 7-2 record.
  • Mychal Kendricks (LB), Philadelphia Eagles – Recorded two tackles in a 27-13 win against Green Bay. The win moves Philadelphia into a tie for first in the NFC East with a 5-5 record.
  • L.P. LaDouceur (LS), Dallas Cowboys – Played in a 49-17 loss to New Orleans. Dallas is tied for first in the NFC East with a 5-5 record.
  • Brandon Mebane (DT), Seattle Seahawks – Recorded a four-yard tackle for loss in a 33-10 win against Atlanta.
  • Mike Mohamed (LB), Tennessee Titans – Did not play in a 29-27 loss against Tennessee.
  • Aaron Rodgers (QB), Green Bay Packers – Out with injury.
  • Jeremy Ross (WR), Detroit Lions – Had two receptions for 28 yards in a 21-19 win against Chicago. Detroit stayed atop the NFC Central with a 6-3 record.
  • Brian Schwenke (C), Tennessee Titans – Started in a 29-27 loss to Jacksonville.
  • Craig Stevens (TE), Tennessee Titans – Had one reception for six yards in a 29-27 loss to Jacksonville.
  • Will Ta’ufo’ou (FB), Jacksonville Jaguars – Played in a 29-27 win against Tennessee.

BYE Week

  • Andre Carter (DE), New England Patriots
  • Alex Mack (C), Cleveland Browns – Attended the Cal-USC game.
  • Mitchell Schwartz (T), Cleveland Browns – Attended the Cal-USC game.

Reserve/Injured

  • Lorenzo Alexander (LB), Arizona Cardinals
