Wetmore coached CU to its first regional championship since 2009 last Friday and the women won handily as they recorded 29 points to defeat the runner-up, New Mexico, by 35 points. The Buffs placed their top four harriers in the top six and had all seven runners finish in the top 15 to earn All-Mountain Region honors. CU automatically qualified for its 21st NCAA Championship appearance in the last 22 year with the win.

The Buffs started the season ranked 14th and were as low as 16th prior to the conference meet. CU recorded a seventh-place finish at NCAA Pre-Nationals, its first big team scoring meet of the season, before placing second at the Pac-12 Conference Championship, just six points behind the then-top-rated Arizona Wildcats (69-75).

The men’s 10-kilometer race will start approximately at 10 a.m. and the women’s 6k race will follow. The CU men are ranked third overall heading into nationals.
