The week in social media photos: Dec. 2-8

Dec 9, 2013

This week, while so much of the country froze up, things were rosy in Palo Alto. But that wasn't the biggest news in the conference. We introduced not one but two new national champions and announced that nine Pac-12 teams will be attending bowl games. All that, and we haven't even mentioned the top basketball team in the country. The week:

The UCLA women's soccer team captured its first national title by defeating
Florida State, 1-0, Sunday in North Carolina.

Dive right in, fellas! This is USC's sixth consecutive national title, but I
imagine it never gets old.

Stanford beat the Sun Devils Saturday in Tempe to win its second straight
Pac-12 title. The Card will face Michigan State in the Rose Bowl.

The Wildcats give a little shoutout to their fans after becoming the number
one ranked team in the country for the first time since 2003.

Here, pre-game, is Askia Booker practicing three-pointers. He'd later hit
the game-winning three as time expired to upset the No. 6 Kansas Jayhawks.

It isn't quite yet gymnastics season, but it's never too early to prepare.

A great season wraps for the Cal volleyball team. Now they'll be going
professional in something other than sports.

As seasons end, so too do careers. Oregon is saying goodbye to a few good ones.

Like we said, it was cold everywhere! So why not bundle up for a Runnin'
Utes basketball double-header?

Washington needed a new football coach. Well, here he is. Welcome to the
Conference of Champions, Chris Petersen.

The Cougs most certainly take their basketball seriously, but sometimes
they mix in a little fun.

The Sun Devils did not prevail in the Pac-12 Championship Game, but
they hosted a championship-level event. Great season, Sun Devils!
