Video: Cal's Alicia Asturias named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week

Cal's Alicia Asturias took home the Golden Bears' first Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week award since 2003. The senior claimed the top all-around score (39.175) at last Sunday's NorCal Meet in Sacramento.

Asturias notched a career-high score on the beam (9.85), eclipsing her previous personal best from last season's meet against Nebraska (9.80). The Cal team captain collected three event titles with victories in the beam, floor and all-around competitions. No. 22 Cal finished second at the NorCal Meet with their second-highest season-opening score (194.650) in program history.

Pac-12 Networks' Sarah Kezele recently talked with Asturias about the nonchalant way she learned she'd won the conference's weekly award, what she needs to focus on before heading into conference competition and sharing a "selfie" moment on set.
