Mondays With Miles - New Years Resolutions

Quiet. This week will likely be the last week I describe as “quiet.” As our players are enjoying their last lingering days off before school and the season starts, staff is busy preparing for the return of our student-athletes. Having just returned from U.S. Lacrosse convention in Philadelphia, I am fueled and excited about the season starting. Next week we plan to hit the ground running!

As January is also the month of resolutions, here are some of mine:

  1. Eat more healthily- Not just because I’m in a weight loss competition but because as the season wares on, I usually eat worse and worse. I WILL eat three meals a day. I WILL limit the amount of soda I intake. I WILL cut out unhealthy snacking. (All easier said than done!)

  2. Express gratitude more often- I am very grateful and thankful for all that I have and I WILL do a better job of showing it!

  3. Carve out more “Ginger Time”- During a busy season, it’s easy to forget about yourself as a coach. Managing the daily lives of 25 student-athletes, it’s easy to forget about yourself. As someone once told me, 'It’s like a plane crash. You have to put on your own mask before you can help others.' I WILL make sure I’m managing a healthy work-life balance.
