Video: Arizona State alum Eddie House honored at Wells Fargo Arena

Jan 25, 2014

It was an afternoon to remember in Tempe for Sun Devil legend Eddie House.

House was honored at Wells Fargo Arena Saturday at halftime of Arizona State's 72-51 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes. His jersey was raised to the rafters, where the Pac-10 record-holder joins Sun Devil greats Joe Caldwell, Byron Scott, Lionel Hollins and Fat Lever.

The game that House will always be remembered for is a Jan. 8, 2000 double-overtime victory against California, where he matched UCLA's Lew Alcindor's 61 points to tie the record for points scored in a Pac-12 conference game. Flashback to that historic night below:

House played at Arizona State from 1996 to 2000, where he finished as the school's leading scorer and earned 2000 Pac-10 Player of the Year honors. He continued on to play in the NBA for 11 years and retired in 2011 after last playing for the Miami Heat. House was interviewed during the halftime ceremony:
