NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 7 Stanford squash team wrapped up its weekend in New Haven, Conn. with a 9-0 loss to No. 2 Trinity.

Playing for the fourth time in three days, the Cardinal gave the second-ranked Bantams a good match. Five of the nine matches went to four sets, but Trinity was able to come out on top at all nine spots.

Stanford got off to a slow start with only three individuals capturing their first set. Freshman CC Ho won her first at the No. 2 spot, 11-6, junior Ariel Posner took her opening set 11-9 at the No. 6 position and sophomore Sarah Haig edged out Chanel Erasmus, 14-12, at the No. 8 slot. All three Stanford players went on to drop the next three sets.

After losing the first two sets, junior Ally Huchro forced a fourth by winning 11-7 in the third. Freshman Julia Olson knotted up the match at 1-1 with a 13-11 second-set win. Neither could continue momentum and would fall in four sets.

The Cardinal fell to 2-2 on the weekend and 4-4 overall for the season. Trinity improved to 8-0 with the victory.
