No. 13 Women’s Golf Sixth at Northrop Grumman

TUCSON, Ariz. After Tuesday’s final round at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, No. 13 Arizona women’s golf finished sixth for its fourth top-10 finish of the season. The Wildcats were one of five Pac-12 teams in the field to finish in the top 10. Hosted by Ohio State, the three-round, three-day event was held at Palos Verdes Golf Club (par 71, 6,017 yards) in Palos Verdes, Calif.
No. 1 USC won the team event with a score of 866 (+14). No. 3 Duke moved up to finish second overall. They recorded a score of 873 (+21). No. 7 Arizona State rounded out the top three with an 875 (+23). No. 13 Arizona finished sixth with rounds of 292, 294 and 296 for a combined score of 882 (+30). Annie Park of USC won the individual medal with a score of 207 (-6).
No. 35 sophomore Lindsey Weaver was Arizona’s top finisher, sharing eighth place. She collected rounds of 72, 70 and 74 for a combined score of 216 (+3). Junior Andrea Vilarasau moved up to share 15th place in the final round with a 73. She carded at 219 (+6).
Freshman Jessica Vasilic finished in a three-way tie for 22nd place. She shot rounds of 72, 74 and 75 for a score of 221 (+8). No. 91 junior Kendall Prince moved up to share 38th place with her tournament-low round of 74 on Tuesday. She finished with a score of 226 (+13). Junior Manon Gidali rounded out the Arizona five in a three-way tie for 71st place. She finished with a score of 233 (+20) with individual rounds of 76, 81 and 76.
The Wildcats will play next at the Bruin Wave Invitational, March 3-4, at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, Calif. The two-day, three-round event will be hosted by UCLA and Pepperdine.
