Second-Ranked Bruins Visit No. 9 Loyola Marymount Saturday

The second-ranked UCLA women’s water polo team visits No. 9 Loyola Marymount for an important 1 p.m. regional matchup Sat., Mar. 1. at LMU’s Burns Center.

The Bruins (15-2) climbed to No. 2 in the ACWPC poll this week after beating previously second ranked Stanford 9-6 on Sunday in the semifinals of the UC Irvine Invitational. On Saturday, the Bruins beat San Diego State 7-1 in the UCI tournament opener and UC San Diego 8-6 in the quarterfinals.

UCLA leads the series against Loyola Marymount 20-1, including a 15-6 victory against the Lions on Jan. 19 in the UCLA Invitational. In that game, sophomore All-American Rachel Fattal led the Bruins with three goals and Kodi Hill, Mackenzie Barr, Alexa Tielmann and Becca Dorst added two each. Goalkeeper Sami Hill started and made eight saves.
