Utah claims top seed for Pac-12 gymnastics championships
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The team seedings for the 2014 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships were determined based on the NCAA regional qualifying scores, as announced by the Conference today.
UTAH earned the top seed for the Championships for the second year in a row with a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 197.365 for Saturday’s 2014 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships hosted by California. Behind them in the No. 2 seed is UCLA with an RQS of 197.005. Holding the No. 3 seed is STANFORD with a 196.640. Rounding out the top four is defending Pac-12 Champion OREGON STATE with a 196.610. These four teams will compete in session one which is slated to begin at 1 p.m. PT.
The second session, beginning at 6:30 p.m. PT is led by host No. 5 CALIFORNIA with an RQS of 196.095. The other three teams in the first session include ARIZONA, the No. 6 seed (196.035), No. 7 ARIZONA STATE (195.745) and lastly, No. 8 WASHINGTON (195.100). Arizona’s RQS included its final regular-season competition on Monday, March 17 at Air Force.
Teams and student-athletes from both sessions are eligible for the team and individual awards. Below lists the event at which each team will start Saturday. Competition will proceed in Olympic order.

Team regional qualifying scores are calculated on the team’s six best regular-season meet scores. Three of these scores must be from an away competition. The highest score is eliminated then the remaining five scores are averaged.
