Wrestling’s Stauffer Upsets Two En Route To NCAA Quarters

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.—Arizona State wrestling’s Blake Stauffer upset a pair of seeded opponents on the opening day of competition at the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Representing the Sun Devils at 184-pounds, Stauffer began his day with a 4-1 win over the No. 9 seed, Michigan’s Domenic Abounader, and followed with a win over the No. 8 seed, Timothy Dudley of Nebraska, 7-2.

Up next, Stauffer will take on the No. 1 seed at 184, Jimmy Sheptock of Maryland, in the Friday morning session. Each NCAA Championship wrestling dual will be streamed via WatchESPN.
