Wrestling’s Stauffer Wraps Competition At NCAAs

OKLAHOMA CITY—Arizona State wrestler Blake Stauffer ended competition at the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Friday with a pair of season-ending losses.

Competing at 184-pounds, Stauffer opened the day with a 6-2 loss to Maryland’s Jimmy Sheptock, the No. 1 seed, before Penn’s Lawrence Thomas, the No. 11 seed, edged him in a 7-5 decision.

Stauffer will wrap the season at 22-10 on the year, 5-0 in Pac-12 Conference competition.
