No. 6 Women?s Golf in 4th at SDSU Farms Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif.—The sixth-ranked Arizona State women’s golf team is in fourth place after the first round of competition at the SDSU Farms Invitational on Monday.  The Sun Devils shot a 7-over 295 at the par-72, 6,237-yard Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.  

Junior Noemi Jimenez, playing in the No. 1 spot for the Sun Devils, shot even-par 72.  Jimenez carded four birdies for the day and finished the round tied for seventh. 

Senior Justine Lee (3) is tied for 11th with a 1-over 73.  Lee carded birdies on holes 16 and 17, which rank among the toughest holes on the course.

Junior Emilie Alonso (4) and freshman Monica Vaughn (5) are tied for 28th with a 3-over 75.  Alonso started the round strong, carding four birdies on the front nine, while Vaughn found her groove on the back nine, carding birdies on holes 10 and 18.   

Senior Dani Ordonez (2), in the Sun Devil lineup for the first time this spring since returning from injury, shot a 6-over 78 in the first round, tying her for 46th overall.

After the first round of play, UCLA’s Alison Lee sits atop the individual leader board with a 4-under 68.  UCLA also leads the 17-team field with a 3-under 285.
