Women?s Golf Set to Compete at Silverado Showdown

THIS WEEK

The Washington State women’s golf team travels to Napa, Calif. for the Silverado Showdown on Apr. 14-15 hosted by Oregon and Colorado…shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. PT both days of the tournament.  

THE COURSE

The inaugural tournament will be held on the prestigious North Course of the Silverado Resort and Spa… track will play at par 72 and 6,196-yards…named the No. 16 golf course in California on Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play” list and No. 27 amongst America’s Top 50 Courses for Women.

THE FIELD

Joining No. 79 Washington State in the tournament field of 15 teams will be USC (1), Arizona (9), Washington (11), Northwestern (20), California (33), Oregon (35), San Diego State (43), UNLV (44), Wisconsin (46), Colorado (52), New Mexico (69), San Jose State (72), Oregon State (73), and Fresno State (106).

REPRESENTING WASHINGTON STATE

Competing for the Cougar women will be Kristen Rue, Monica Huang, Nani Yanagi, Mallory Kent, and Cherokee Kim.

“This week our focus is on staying in the present and playing one shot at a time. Silverado is a challenging, but fun course and we are excited to compete.”
