CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s golf team will play its final tournament before hosting the Pac-12 Championship when it competes at the inaugural Silverado Showdown on Monday and Tuesday in Napa, Calif.

FIELD (ranking in parenthesis): Oregon State (73), USC (1), Arizona (9), Washington (11), Northwestern (20), California (33), Oregon (35), San Diego State (43), UNLV (44), Wisconsin (46), Colorado (52), New Mexico (69), San Jose State (72), Washington State (79) and Fresno State (106).

COURSE: The tournament will be held on the North Course at the Silverado Resort and Spa, which was named the No. 16 golf course in California on Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play” list and No. 27 amongst America’s Top 50 Courses for Women.

BEAVERS’ LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of seniors Lauren Sewell and Seshia Telles, junior Anica Yoo, sophomore Chelsea Saelee and freshman Krissy Peterson.

FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play and another shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

QUOTING HEAD COACH RISË ALEXANDER: "The Silverado Showdown is a new event hosted by Oregon and Colorado at Silverado Golf Club in Napa Valley, Calif. I have never seen or played the golf course and neither have any of our players. In doing some research it appears to be a tight tree-lined, gently-rolling golf course with plenty of bunkers on every hole. I am most concerned about the bunkers because our practice bunker at Trysting Tree was damaged by the flooding earlier this spring, and we haven’t had a good place to practice as a result of that.

“We have, however, been taking full advantage of the good weather this week by putting in some time at Trysting Tree preparing not only for Silverado, but the Pac-12 Championship, which follows the next week. It has been encouraging as of late to see the younger players like Anica and Chelsea stepping up their game and taking charge of their course management and mental toughness. If all of our players step up their commitment and focus this week it will definitely show in the results.”

LAST TIME OUT: Oregon State got better each day as they shot a 48-over 308-303-301--912 at the par-72, 6,223-yard ASU Karsten Golf Course to finish in 14th place at the PING/ASU Invitational last weekend in Tempe, Ariz.

South Carolina ran away with the team title with an 11-under 853, while Washington, Arizona State and Duke tied for second with a 5-under 850. Celine Boutier of Duke claimed medalist honors with an 8-under 208.

Anica Yoo had four birdies and four bogeys to shoot an even-par 72 in the final round and moved up nine spots to finish in a tie for 33rd place with a 5-over 74-75-72--221. Chelsea Saelee finished in a tie for 58th place with a 12-over 74-77-77--228, Seshia Telles tied for 62nd with a 13-over 81-72-76--229, Lauren Sewell shot a 19-over 80-79-76--235 for 73rd and freshman Jesse Hamilton finished in 78th with a 28-over 80-81-83--244.
