Wrestling?s Eskam, Carpio Named To Pac-12 All-Academic Teams

PAC-12 RELEASE

TEMPE, Ariz.—Arizona State wrestling’s redshirt junior Chace Eskam and sophomore Ares Carpio were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced on Thursday.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be a significant contributor.

Named to the first-team for the first time in his career, Eskam owns a 3.73 GPA and is majoring in psychology. Eskam started at heavyweight for each of ASU’s dual matches in 2014 and recorded a 2-3 record in Pac-12 matches.

Picking up a nod on the second team, Carpio owns a 3.33 GPA, and is currently undeclared. This is also his first-ever selection to the conference all-academic teams. Carpio finished the season at 11-7 in dual matches and recorded a 3-2 mark in Pac-12 action.
