Bears Conclude Dual Meet Season as No. 1 Ranked Team

BERKELEY - The California Golden Bears men finished the dual meet season as the No. 1 overall team in the final edtion of the Track & Field News dual meet rankings. The Bears concluded the season with a 9-0 mark in dual meets in 2014, after claiming comfortable victories over New Mexico, Utah State and Oklahoma in Berkeley at the Brutus Hamilton Open and Challenge on April 25-26. 

2014 also marks the first time that the Bears have been undefeated in dual meets since 1993, when they finished 12-0 and surpasses their best finish ever in the poll from the 1986 season, when they were third.

The Bears are now in preparation for the Pac-12 Championships, which are being held in Pullman, Washington this coming weekend for the Multis, and the following weekend for all other competitions.

To be ranked, a team must compete in one or more dual meets (defined as a scored meet between four or fewer teams). Teams are ranked on wins and losses, marks, and strength and depth of dual meet schedule. Teams are rewarded for taking dual meet competition seriously.
