Volleyball Closes Out Spring Action
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team closed out its spring slate with a four-set victory over Seattle at Gill Coliseum over the weekend.
The Beavers took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-20, before dropping set three, 23-25. OSU closed out the match with a 25-20 win in set four.
Oregon State was led offensively by Lila Toner and Laura Schaudt, who each had 18 kills on the day. Toner hit 30 percent for the match, and tied Darby Reeder for the team’s lead with three aces apiece.
Arica Nassar, who was second with nine blocks, was close behind with 11 kills in 24 attempts for a 33.3-percent mark.
Reeder and Rachel Buehner tied for Oregon State’s team lead with 19 digs apiece as the Beavers totaled 68 overall. Toner ended with 11 for a double-double.
Defensively, Haley Clarke was a stalwart for the Beavers at the net, closing out the match with 11 blocks. She had three solo – OSU totaled nine as a team with Nassar and Schaudt posting two apiece.
Tayla Woods tallied 34 assists while newcomer Dana Backlund pitched in with seven.
