Burke Named All-District
STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford field hockey player Hope Burke was named to the Capital One Academic All-District team, as announced by the organization this week.
The honor recognizes student athlete’s-success in athletics and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced the first week of June.
Burke led Stanford with nine goals and tied for the team-high in points with 22 during the 2013 season. She was a 2013 NorPac West All-Conference selection and earned the NorPac Conference Academic Excellence Award. Burke was named a 2014 Longstreth/NFHCA All-Region First Team selection.
To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.
