Video: Oregon's A.J. Balta tumbles home for a run
They say whenever you go to a ballgame you'll see something you've never seen before. That was very accurate during the Oregon Ducks' 5-1 victory over the California Golden Bears on Thursday night at PK Park in Eugene.
With two outs in the bottom seventh inning, Ducks freshman A.J. Balta attempted a steal of third base. After the throw from Bears catcher Mike Reuvekamp airmailed third base allowing Balta the chance to head home for a run, Balta got a little ahead of himself, dropping his helmet and doing a sumersault down the third baseline before coming in to score.
Pac-12 Networks' JB Long and J.T. Snow had never seen anything like this before, and neither have we. Maybe Balta will have a career in gymnastics too? He stomped the landing.
Check out the video below of Balta tumbling home.
