Four Pac-12 schools tabbed in NSCAA preseason rankings

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - UCLA, WASHINGTON and CALIFORNIA earned top-10 spots in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) preseason college rankings, the organization announced today. The Bruins were ranked No. 4, the Huskies No. 6 and the Bears weighed in at No. 7. STANFORD was ranked No. 20.

UCLA brings back All-American, Pac-12 Player of the Year and Conference leading goal-scorer Leo Stolz and team-captain GK Earl Edwards Jr.. Stolz and Edwards will be joined by a recruiting class that College Soccer News has ranked as the No. 1 in the nation. 

2013 Pac-12 Champion Washington will be led by last year’s Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Cristian Roldan. Pac-12 Coach of the Year Jamie Clark also gets back first team all-Conference F Darwin Jones, who along with Roldan led the team with seven goals.

California returns an experienced attack with MF Seth Casiple and F Stefano Bonomo, who both return for their senior seasons after earning second team All-Pac-12 honors last year.

All six Pac-12 men’s soccer teams will kick off the 2014 season on Aug. 29-31. Pac-12 men’s soccer will receive extensive coverage as the Pac-12 Networks will air 30 men’s soccer matches this season.
