Alison Lee and Ani Gulugian Advance at LPGA Q-School

Rancho Mirage, Calif. -- UCLA golfers Alison Lee and Ani Gulugian both advanced out of the LPGA’s first stage of Qualifying School Friday at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.

Lee, 19, tied for fourth place at five-under par 283 after posting scores of 71-71-70-71 this week. Gulugian, who graduated in June, recorded scores of 75-73-73-74—295 (+7) and tied for 57th.

The top 100 players advanced Friday to Stage II at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL, Sept. 30-Oct. 4. From there, the top 80 and ties move on to Stage III at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, FL, Dec. 3-7.

Emily Tubert of Burbank won the first stage with a 12-under par score of 276.
