Liufau-to-Spruce connection gives Colorado first victory of the season

Sep 6, 2014

After connecting on two touchdowns in the Buffaloes' season opener a week ago, Sefo Liufau and Nelson Spruce were at it again in Colorado's 41-38 victory over UMass in Foxboro on Saturday afternoon.

Lifufau hit Spruce on a 70-yard go-ahead touchdown pass that gave Colorado a 34-31 lead which they never relinquished.

On the ensuing drive, Liufau hit Spruce for a second time to make the score 41-31. Both plays are seen here.

Spruce had a career-high 145 yards on 10 receptions and now has four touchdown receptions this year. He has been a bright spot for a Colorado receiving corps that is trying to replace the production of Paul Richardson.
