Arizona Ninth Entering Final Round of SW Intercollegiate

Westlake, Calif. - The Arizona men’s golf team finished the first two rounds of the Southwestern Intercollegiate in 9th place after shooting 594 (+26) as a team.

The Wildcats will play the tournament’s final 18 holes on Tuesday beginning at 8 a.m. PST.

Freshman George Cunningham paced Arizona with a two-round total of 143 (+1). Cunningham shot a 75 (+1) in the opening round, but came back strong on Monday with a three-under 68 to move into a tie for seventh place.

“He is a very experienced competitor,” head coach Jim Anderson said. “His short game and putting remain sharp and he is very confident in his ability to score.”

Senior Alex McMahon finished the day in a tie for 26th with a total of 148 (+6). While freshman Peter Koo’s 150 (+8) puts him into a 38th-place tie and fellow freshman Max Donohue is at 153 (+11) putting him in a tie for 49th place. Senior Brenden Redfern shot 157 (+15), to finish the day in a tie for 61st place.

Arizona’s individual in the tournament, senior Ricky Lee is currently 16-over with a 158. He currently stands in a tie for 65th place.
