Cougs to Face No. 4 UW and No. 1 Stanford on Road

WSU VOLLEYBALL OPENS PAC-12 CONFERENCE ON THE ROAD
The Washington State University volleyball team (9-3) hits the road, a familiar place for the Cougars so far in 2014, as Pac-12 Conference play begins this week...Cougars will face two nationally-ranked team who are undefeated to start the week...Wed., Sept. 24 at No. 4 Washington (11-0) on Pac-12 TV and Fri., Sept. 26 at No. 1 Stanford (10-0 pending 9/23 home match versus California).

Cougar volleyball fans can listen to all the road contests during the 2014 season LIVE in the Palouse on KQQQ-AM radio (1150 AM) and on the internet at wsucougars.com…veteran area broadcaster Steve Grubbs is the voice of Cougar volleyball for the ninth consecutive season.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Jen Stinson Greeny begins her fourth season as WSU’s head coach (52-56 at WSU, 4 years; 164-81 in career, 8 years) - complete Greeny bio on page 5...assistant coaches Burdette Greeny (4th year) and Shannon Hunt (2nd year)...all three coaches are former WSU student-athletes...volunteer coach Kelli Tikker (first year)...Katie Hinrichs is coordinator of operations (4th year).

COUGARS REACHING MILESTONES
Junior libero Kate Sommer became the ninth Cougar to reach 1,000 digs in a career...Sommer’s 1,123 digs is fifth-best in WSU history.

Senior outside hitter Jaicee Harris became the 12th Cougar to reach 1,000 kills in a career...Harris’ total is now 1,007 kills, 11th-best in WSU history and just one ahead of her coach Jen Greeny’s career total...Harris is enroute to achieving 1,000 digs with 993 career total...she will become the fourth player in WSU history to achieve 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs - Shannon Wyckoff (Hunt) 1994-97, Keren Oigman 1994-97, and LaToya Harris 1999-2002.
