Mondays With Madi

Sep 22, 2014

Hi Wildcat fans! I hope everyone had a fantastic Monday!

This weekend your VolleyCats played their last pre-season tournament and it was a good one. We faced Coppin State, Tulane University, and University of Maryland Baltimore County. It was a great weekend for the Cats because we were able to keep improving on our game and working out the small kinks before conference play starts.

Friday morning we played Coppin State from Baltimore. In the early morning match we were able to shut them down in 3 sets (25-13, 25-23, 25-18) and our very own McKenzie Jacobson made her debut and played lights out. Awesome job Mac! That night we faced Tulane University who played very well. As a team we played extremely solid and only had 3 hitting errors collectively, sweeping them in 3 sets as well (25-10, 25-21, 25-18).

Saturday morning we took on the UMBC golden retrievers. This was a scrappy team that fought throughout each game. In the end we also got the sweep against them (25-11, 25-11, 25-21). Overall this was a very solid weekend for our team. I think this helped us to prepare for the upcoming conference play.

Speaking of conference play, PAC-12 PLAY STARTS THIS WEDNESDAY!

Our first conference match will be against ASU this Wednesday at 7:30!
It is a RED OUT!

Come prepared to cheer your Cats on to victory!

After we take on the Sun Devils, we will be travelling to California to play UCLA on Friday.

Until next Monday, BEARDOWN!
