Three teams undefeated, seven ranked for Pac-12 Volleyball

Three of the nation’s five undefeated volleyball teams are Pac-12 teams with OREGON, STANFORD and WASHINGTON remaining unbeaten. The Cardinal is the No. 1 team in the country for the fourth-consecutive week, while the Huskies remain in the top five in the nation at No. 4. The Ducks are just out of the top 10, coming in at No. 11. They have steadily moved up the rankings this season after beginning the year unranked. Also ranked this week are ARIZONA at No. 14, ARIZONA STATE at No. 17, USC at No. 19 and UCLA at No. 20. The Pac-12’s seven ranked teams are a national best this week ... Conference play could not have gotten off to a more exciting start. One-third of the league matches played went to five sets and two were upsets ... UCLA’s Karsta Lowe was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. The senior is having an outstanding campaign leading the Bruins back into the top 25 this season. She leads the nation in kills (6.49) and points (7.19) per set. The Wildcats’ McKenzie Jacobson was tabbed the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week and Washington’s Tia Scambray is the freshman of the week for the second-straight week ... Other Pac-12 athletes leading the country in NCAA statistical categories are: OREGON STATE’s Arica Nassar (1.73 blocks per set), Stanford’s Merete Lutz (.528 hitting percentage) and UA’s Madi Kingdon (14.33 attacks per set). UCLA is the nation’s leader in assists per set (14.65) and kills per set (15.73)  ... This week kicks off with a tough road trip for the Trojans who looking to redeem themselves after an uncharacteristic downswing having lost five of their last six matches. UW, which has won nine of their 13 matches by a sweep, will host USC on the Pac-12 Networks on Wednesday ... The Cardinal hosts the Ducks for the Conference’s season debut on ESPNU on Friday ... In all, nine Pac-12 volleyball matches will be televised this week, including all four of Sunday’s clashes on the Pac-12 Networks.
