Davidson, Zhao To Semifinals

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif.- Taylor Davidson and Carol Zhao advanced to Saturday’s doubles semifinal round in the main draw of the Riviera ITA All-American Championships.

Davidson and Zhao notched a pair of victories on Friday, holding their opponents to three games or less in all four sets. The Cardinal duo will next face USC’s Giuliana Olmos and Zoe Scandalis tomorrow in a match that is scheduled to not start before 2:30 p.m.

Meanwhile in singles, Zhao and Caroline Doyle saw their impressive tourney runs come to an end in the quarterfinals. Zhao dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Florida’s Brooke Austin while Doyle was edged 7-6 (6), 3-6, 6-3 by UCLA’s Robin Anderson.
