McDonald Remains Alive in Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. - UCLA's Mackenzie McDonald is the last remaining men's tennis player at the ITA Men's All-American Championships, as the Bruin sophomore won his consolation singles match on Friday.

McDonald, a 9-16 seed who was upset in the first round of the main draw on Thursday, remained alive in the tournament following an 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over George Washington's Francisco Dias. Next up is a showdown with Auburn's Lukas Ollert on Saturday.

Fellow sophomore Gage Brymer was beaten in his first consolation match, falling to Clemson's Hunter Harrington, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.

In main draw men's doubles action, McDonald and partner Martin Redlicki were beaten in Friday's second round, suffering a 7-5, 7-5 loss to third-seeded Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude of Oklahoma State.
