Colorado's Tyler McCulloch steps up with Nelson Spruce in check
Oregon State had Nelson Spruce covered all day long, so CU quarterback Sefo Liufau had to look at his other options.
Tyler McCulloch filled that role Saturday afternoon despite the Buffaloes' 36-31 loss to Oregon State. With his team trailing 14-0, McCulloch put the Buffs on the scoreboard for the first time with a 31-yard touchdown catch.
In the fourth quarter and with Colorado behind by 12 points, McCulloch showed up again. He willed his way into the endzone for a 17-yard touchdown reception to bring the deficit to 36-31. McCulloch finished the game as Colorado's leading receiver with four catches for 76 yards, his first multi-touchdown game of his career. He had more touchdowns Saturday than he had all last season.
