Kim, Jing Advance At LPGA Qualifying

VENICE, Fla. -- Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament concluded on Friday with two of three Huskies making the cut to advance to Stage III. SooBin Kim and Yan Jing will have a chance to earn their tour card this December.
Kim wrapped up her weekend with a strong finish, firing a round of 3-under 69 on the final day. She finished 6-over for the 72-hole tournament, tied for 72nd. The top 80, including ties advance to Stage III.
Close behind Kim, finishing tied for 78th was the freshman Jing. She shot an even-par round of 72 on the last day of the tournament to finish at 7-over. Jing will also compete in Stage III later this winter.
The LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament will take place December 3-7 at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The third Husky to compete was senior Jennifer Yang, who finished the weekend 10-over par and tied for 108th, but did not advance.
In December, Kim and Jing will join the other qualifiers who are looking to earn full LPGA status after Round III; a distinction that will be awarded to the top 20 at the final stage.
