Baseball Announces 2015 Schedule
CORVALLIS, Ore. – The two-time defending Pac-12 Champion Oregon State baseball team announced its 2015 schedule on Thursday, a slate that includes 30 games at Goss Stadium.
Thirty-five of the team’s 55 games, meanwhile, are slated to be played in the state of Oregon. Also, 19 of the team’s 55 games in 2015 will be played against teams that advanced to the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
“This is a very competitive and great schedule for the 2015 season,” Oregon State head coach Pat Casey said. “We are excited to be able to play at home so often in front of the best fans in the Pac-12.”
Oregon State will no doubt look to take advantage of the 30 home games as the Beavers have gone 113-35 (.764) at Goss Stadium dating back to the 2010 season.
Impressively, too, Oregon State is 97-55 (.638) away from home the last five years. The Beavers have posted four consecutive seasons of winning records on opponents’ home fields, for just the third time in the last 32 years.
The Beavers open the 2015 season with consecutive weekends at Surprise Stadium in Arizona. The Spring Training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals will host OSU, Northwestern, Michigan State and New Mexico the first weekend of the season, which starts Feb. 13. The Beavers will stay in Arizona the following weekend to take on Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State.
The ’15 home slate gets underway Feb. 26 when the Beavers open a three-game series against 2014 NCAA Tournament team Cal Poly. Those three games begins the first of two eight-game homestands for the Beavers, who wrap up the first ‘stand by welcoming Fresno State for a four-game series and a midweek contest with Portland.
A trip to Arizona State opens Pac-12 Conference play for the Beavers, who visit the Sun Devils March 13-15. Other Pac-12 road trips for OSU include UCLA (April 2-4), Oregon (April 10-12), Washington (May 1-3) and Stanford (May 13-17).
The Beavers open their second eight-game homestand after the ASU series when Washington State comes to Corvallis (March 20-22). OSU also hosts San Jose State for a midweek pair the following week before taking on Missouri State for three games (March 27-29).
Other Pac-12 series for the Beavers include Arizona (April 17-19), USC (April 24-26), Utah (May 8-10) and California (May 22-24). Oregon State plays seven of its last 10 and 14 of 21 at home, with a pair of midweek games against Oregon (April 28 and May 13) highlighting the stretch.
