HOOPS MAROON GOLD SCRIMMAGES SET FOR FRIDAY, NOV. 7

The Sun Devil men's and women's basketball teams will hold open scrimmages at Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, Nov. 7, the night prior to the Sun Devil Football game against Notre Dame.

The men's team will sign autographs at 5:30, the women's team will scrimmage at 6:30, followed by a men's team scrimmage at 7 p.m.

The men's team, who went 16-1 at home last year and earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament, is coming off its fifth 20-win season in Coach Herb Sendek's eight seasons. The team will also be part of Devil Walk activities prior to the Notre Dame game.

The women's team is coming off its 14th postseason appearance in the last 15 years after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last season. Nine players, including three starters, return from the squad that went 23-10, finished tied for fourth in the Pac-12 and was ranked as high as No. 11 in the AP poll during the regular season. The 2014-15 season will be the 18th at Arizona State for head coach Charli Turner Thorne, who is No. 2 all time in the Pac-12 in career wins (325).

A dunk contest will take place after the scrimmages. Kids activities include face painting, inflatables, balloon artists and selling of a 50/50 raffle.

Sun Devil Ticket Office personnel will be on hand all day Friday.
