Undefeated teams lead Pac-12 volleyball

Pac-12 volleyball has the most ranked teams of any conference in the country, as seven league squads appear in the AVCA polling, all of them in the top 20. The Cardinal occupy the No. 1 spot for the sixth-straight week and the Huskies are at No. 3, staying in the top five in the poll for the eighth-straight week. OREGON enters the top 10 this week for the first time this season at No. 10. ARIZONA, ARIZONA STATE, USC and UCLA are ranked No. 16-19, respectively ... STANFORD and WASHINGTON are two of the four remaining undefeated teams in the nation. Both teams have made sure to make quick work of their opponents, as well, each winning more than half their matches in three sets ... With more than half the Conference ranked, four league matches this week pits two top-20 teams. The Ducks and Bruins kick off the action this week. Nine Pac-12 volleyball matches will be televised this week on the Conference’s Networks ... USC’s Samantha Bricio was voted the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after averaging an impressive 7.29 points per set in two matches last week. She has also made her way up the Pac-12 record books, ranking second in league history in aces ... UW’s Krista Vansant has earned her third weekly recognition and first Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season. With her ninth-career weekly nod, she is tied with Stanford great Logan Tom for the most all-time ... OREGON STATE’s Mary-Kate Marshall was tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second time this season ... UCLA’s 14.26 assists and 15.17 kills per set are the best averages in the respective categories in the country. Stanford freshman Merete Lutz is the most efficient hitter in the nation, hitting at a .516 clip, while UCLA’s Karsta Lowe leads the country with 6.04 kills and 6.73 points per set. Lowe is having a career season, showing significant improvement in both categories as compared to last season. ARIZONA’s Madi Kingdon’s 14.49 attacks per set are the most in the NCAA, as well.
