TUCSON - Arizona softball seniors Kellie Fox, Chelsea Goodacre and Hallie Wilson have been invited to the 2015 USA Softball Selection Camp, the Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball Announced on Thursday.
Fox, Goodacre and Wilson are three of 32 players who received the initial invitational to the camp, which takes place Jan. 4-8 in Irvine, Calif. Those athletes who accept the invitation to try out will vie for 17 spots on the 2015 USA Softball Women’s National Team (WNT) roster that will compete at the World Cup of Softball X in July, 2015 and a spot on the 15-athlete roster that will compete in the 2015 Pan American Games, which will be held July 15-26 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
All three players accepted invitations last season. Fox and Wilson were selected to the team while an injury cut Goodacre's tryout short.
Fox and Wilson were awarded NFCA All-America last season while Goodacre was a first-team all-conference selection. The three return after helping Arizona lead the country in home runs a season ago. Goodacre was fourth nationally and first in the Pac-12 with 22 homers while Wilson launched 17 and Fox clouted 15.
