Harrison, Isleta Have Strong Meets vs. USC

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior Sammy Harrison recorded a pair of first-place finishes as the Oregon State swimming team faced USC at the Osborn Aquatic Center Saturday afternoon.

Harrison opened her day by winning the 1,000 freestyle, coming in with a time of 9:56.92, and then followed that up by taking the top spot in the 500 freestyle, stopping the clock in 4:54.77. Harrison also placed second in the 100 freestyle at 53:10.

As a team, Oregon State fell to USC by the score of 153-107.

Sophomore Czsarina Isleta posted a strong meet, placing in the top-three in three events. Isleta took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.85), and finished third in both the 200 IM (2:10.61) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.13). Fellow sophomore Andrea Young took second in a pair of events, finishing the 50 freestyle in 24.64 and stopping the clock at 2:08.88 in the 200 IM.

Senior Dakota Bloch and junior Amani Amr both finished with a pair of top-three finishes. Bloch placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:55.95) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:16.28), while Amr took second in the 200 backstroke (2:03.58) and third in the 100 backstroke (57.11).

Sophomore Brooke Meyer placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.23. Freshman Emma Osowski took third in the 1,000 freestyle (10:47.52), while junior Constance Toulemonde placed third in the 200 freestyle (1:56.62) and sophomore Claire McLaggan took third in the 50 freestyle (24.86). Sophomore Anni Hecker finished third in the 100 freestyle at 53.19.

The Oregon State relay team of Amr, freshman Allie Kilroy, Toulemonde and Young finished second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:46.64. The Beaver squad of Harrison, Bloch, freshman Noemie Midrez and freshman Tair Maimon took second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:33.73).

The Beavers are back in action next week, when they hit the road to take on California and Stanford.
